The Electrifying Eotech XPS2-0 (My Review)

Today, I’m going to review for you the Eotech XPS2-0 holographic sight.

Now holographic sights are a form of reflex sight that use different technology to produce the image of the reticle.

There are many who say the Eotech is the best holographic sight you can find on the market.

Stay with me for my thoughts on that in the conclusion of this article.

Let’s dive into the review!

The Eotech’s Housing and Mount…

The Eotech XPS2-0 has a tough protective hood and an integrated base mount.

The protective hood protects the housing of the sight and makes this red dot extremely durable.

In fact, this eotech was able to pass military specification drop tests as well as being waterproof and shockproof.

And on top of that, this optic is submersible up to 10 feet under water. So you shouldn’t have to worry about it ever getting wet.

Additionally, because the sight comes with an integrated base mount, you don’t need to worry about buying or finding a separate mount for the optic.

It comes ready to be attached to your rifle.

The Eotech’s Dot Size and Reticle…

The Eotech XPS2-0 using their variation of the circle dot reticle. It uses a 1 MOA dot in the center which is surrounded by a large 68 MOA ring. 

As I think I’ve said before, this is my favorite style of reticle because the 1 MOA dot allows you to really aim small and be precision as small targets or distant targets.

However, that large 68 MOA ring makes shooting at large targets up close super fast because your eye is just able to pick it up and move with it so easily.

It’s because of this sight picture that I think the Eotech XPS2-0 is probably the best EOTech optic available.

The Eotech’s Holographic Technology…

As mentioned before the Eotech XPS2-0 is a form of red dot called a holographic sight.

The reason for this is because it uses laser-driven hologram technology to produce the image of the reticle.

This allows the optic to have ultra clear lenses, which have an anti-reflective coating.

This is very different to other red dot sights or reflex sights, which have a bright front lens that can be seen very easily.

But also, the Eotech XPS2-0’s sight window is enormous. 

Which gives you the ability to see more of what’s going on around you, and doesn’t give you the feeling of tunnel vision that you get with some other red dot sights.

The Eotech’s Battery Life…

The Eotech has good battery life, but it is not great.

It uses one 123 lithium battery to maintain power and has about 600 hours of continuous battery life.

That may seem a little bit low compared to some other optics with 50,000 hours on one cr 2032 battery…

…but you have to consider again that this is a holographic sight, and as I mentioned before, it has it’s own advantages as well.

So, Is The Eotech A Red Dot Worth Buying?

Yes. The Eotech XPS2-0 is an extremely rugged and waterproof sight. It also comes with an integrated base mount. So you don’t have to hunt one down and spend more money…

It has an enormous sight window that allows you to see more of your surrounding and your target…

And it has an absolutely incredible reticle with the 1 MOA dot in the center for precision
And the 68 MOA ring surrounding it for speed.


I think the Eotech XPS2-0 is the best holographic sight on the market, and a fantastic red dot sight.
